This Orange Pekoe Premium received awards at the Japan Tea Festival and Paris Agency for the Valorization of Agricultural Products (AVPA). Sundanese is organically cultivated black tea surrounded by dense forests and 1,000m altitudes; preconditions idea for tea cultivation. The taste is based on spicy flavors, enveloped by some hints of chocolate.

I tend to go for flavored teas, so this was a step outside of my so called “comfort zone”! This tea consists solely of big, dark tea leaves that give off an earthy aroma. Once steeped, it is a beautiful deep amber-y color and bold, malty scent. The experience is similar to what I (a novice tea drinker) have come to expect from black teas – a medium bodied drink with a strong, hearty flavor – but this is certainly smooth. I’m sure this would be great with milk, but knowing this is more of a rare Indonesian tea, I like to drink it unadulterated to let the tea leaves shine!

Delightful! I think you have found the smoothest black tea in the world. Large black leaves with a malty aroma when dry, transition to a vegetal-earthy aroma when steeped. The tea leaves produce a clear amber color liquid. It has a smooth and silky mouthfeel, not astringent at all, with a clean finish. I find it to be delicious with no milk.
When I shared a cup of Sundanese tea with friends, they all remarked at the smoothness of this tea. It was a big hit!

In the mornings, I enjoy a good black to with an even dose of caffeine to get my day started and this tea delivers! It’s smooth robust taste offers a great kick to start your day or provide an afternoon jumpstart. After this cup, theres no way im going back to the regular teabags! 10/10 highly recommend!
