Limited to just 2–6 guests, Beyond the Leaf takes place in the Ashford Tea Company Salon & Studio, where guests are invited to slow down, taste deeply, ask questions, and discover what makes exceptional tea truly exceptional.

Together, we’ll explore four extraordinary and often overlooked expressions of the tea world: White, Yellow, Purple, and Dark teas—rare and unique teas selected from around the world.
Wayne will guide guests through the story behind each tea, what makes it distinctive, how it should be properly steeped, and how to recognize its aroma, flavor, body, finish, and character.
Along the way, we’ll talk about tea, food, culture, craftsmanship, aging, discovery, and the simple art of slowing down enough to truly experience what is in your cup.
And because great tea deserves great company, your tasting experience includes samples of homemade scones from Savannah’s Scone Company and Ashford family’s beloved sweet potato pie recipe to enjoy during the tasting.

My wife and I booked Wayne’s Tea Tasting. The experience was tremendous. We learned about the different types of teas, the best ways to steep the various teas, and how to determine quality teas from cheap teas. Best of all was the tasting.
